Main Characters

Julian is the middle son of Paul and Elena Cartio. He grew up idolizing his heroic father and decided at a young age he would follow in his footsteps and join the military. Unlike other Magites, who are identified by their bright-blue eyes, Julian’s eyes are green, allowing him to pass as a normal human. Julian has a kind heart, a strong sense of justice, and tries to see the good in everyone.

Ginn is Julian’s best friend and neighbor since they were babies. He was selected to succeed Archmage Seid at a young age and has been training under him since he was in grade school. His smart mouth often gets him into trouble, which Julian constantly bails him out of. In spite of this, he is very protective of his friends and loved ones.

Antagonists

Ovis and Aries were a husband-and-wife team of powerful Magites who tries to take over Castaro through their powerful magic. They were killed by Paul Cartio but not before they caused massive loss of property and life. It is because of the actions of these two that Magites are seen as pariahs and barred from holding office and joining the military

Supporting Cast

Paul was Julian’s heroic father who stopped the Medalla Attack. His actions allowed him to rise up in the ranks to eventually become the next General of the Military. He died of a heart attack before he could assume the position, though, when Julian was sixteen. On his deathbed, he gave Julian his medallion that he always wore around his neck.

Elena immigrated to Castaro from East Salvesa after meeting Paul on one of his earlier missions and marrying him. A devoted housewife and mother of five boys, she’s made sure to raise her boys to be hard-working and kind like their father.

Archmage Seid is the leader of all of Castaro’s Magites. Before the Medalla Attack, he was an advisor to the President and Prime Minster. Since the attack, he’s done all he can to teach and protect the country’s Magites. He’s a close mentor of both Ginn and Julian and dear friend to their parents and families.
